Today’s Advent activity from our activity calendar is making salt dough Christmas ornaments. I put out a basket for each child with a selection of Christmas cookie cutters, rolling pins and a ball of salt dough. I used our easy recipe 1 cup flour, 1 cup salt and 1/2 cup water.
The kids are at a stage now where they can do most of this activity on their own now.
They rolled out the dough and used the cutters. I was there to add some details to a few decorations to give as gifts and to lift them onto the baking tray.
I then baked the salt dough Christmas ornaments in the oven on a low temperature for about an hour.
Once cool we tied them with natural twine and they are ready to hang 🙂

Mama even had a chance to make some salt dough Christmas ornament tags, using some Stampin’ Up Christmas stamps ‘Punch Pals’ and ‘Season of Joy’ with Cherry Cobbler stamp ink on uncooked dough. I then cooked them on a low heat for about an hour and added ribbon when they were cool.
