Craft Stick Firework Star

Creating a craft stick firework star is a very easy craft that looks awesome no matter the age of the child participating. My kids are so excited for Australia Day this year! They’ve got to the age where they remember we’ve celebrated the day with friends, a BBQ, lots of music and singing, and they can’t wait for it to happen again! Today we’re sharing a craft we made to hang in our outside area – a craft stick firework star.

{what you do…}

I prepared the stars before hand using a glue gun, as my kids don’t have the patience to wait for glue to dry, but older children could certainly do this part.

We glued streamers to the back of the star.

We then flipped the star over and decorated the front with glitter, pompoms and sequins. Kids can decorate to their heart’s content, like Strawberry, who loves anything crafty or until their ‘done’, like Ooffa, whose focus comes in small spurts!

Finally, we added our star tinsel by either weaving it through the openings in the star or wrapping around the star or gluing to the front, it’s completely open-ended.
