I am really excited about sharing how we are displaying children’s art in our home. It has taken a fun wall of creativity and given it some style, which is exactly what we needed, as our display is in our lounge room!

Our Montessori Home: Displaying Childrens Art

I have been planning this make-over for months and pinned lots and lots of ideas. Recently a few mums and I held a Friday crafternoon at my home and I took the opportunity to make up these frames for displaying children’s art in.

One of these frames used to be a gorgeous family portrait frame my brother had given us one Christmas but thanks to the wonderful ball skills possessed by Ooffa…well you get the idea {wink}.

The other two frames were recent purchases to make up the three in the display, because everything seems to look better in threes!

Armed with the wonderful black and white fabric (purchased last year from IKEA), spray adhesive (purchased from Bunnings), a staple gun, natural twine string and mini wooden clothespins I got to making up the frames.

Using the backing board of the frames I traced around the outline onto the fabric and then cut out each piece of material.

Using the adhesive spray I sprayed onto the backing boards and carefully laid the fabric over the boards, aligning the edges and smoothing over any creases.

On the backside of the frames I attached the string with the staple gun. Then I placed the fabric covered backing boards back into the frames and hung them on the wall. Displaying children’s art is fun and easy with these gorgeous mini wood clothespins.

The finishing touch is this fabulous wall decal that I purchased from Etsy.

It was exactly what I was looking for, in the colour that I wanted and the perfect size to fit in that space. I loved these too, maybe they’re exactly what you’re looking for {smile}
